Tired of the hustle and bustle of everyday life?
Come ride the Buffalo Creek Excursion Train!

Take a trip back to a time when the iron rail was king.
Experience the vast array of natural ecosystems and beautiful views, ranging from waterfronts and grassy estuaries, to dense deciduous forest and fields painted on a mountain backdrop.
Fans of history and nature alike are sure to enjoy this unique experience. Great for families and group events!

The open rail cars are pulled by an antique Fairmont gas powered jitney, originally built for the Northfolk Southern Railroad back in the 1950’s. The cars feature comfortable padded bus style seats that make the ride smooth as the route winds along the Buffalo Creek, through virtually untouched forest, and past towering cliffs.

The train moves at a leisurely pace of approximately 5-7 mph with scheduled stops where you have the opportunity to disembark to truly experience the wilderness and history of the trail.

Rail bikes and rail cars all leave together and travel together as a group so your whole family can enjoy the trip. Our rides aren’t just for sight-seeing. At the turnaround point, riders get photo opportunities as the crew turns the rail-bikes around for the trip back. Bring your pole and fish in the trout stocked Buffalo Creek, or wear your swimwear to take a dip in the cool waters.

Come prepared to enjoy nature. Wet weather gear is recommended if rain is in the forecast.
Please no rushing, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
